To give an update once again.

The removal is almost complete.
A few walls are already out.
A large wall breakthrough and 2 smaller passages are still missing.
The steel beams for this have already been ordered and should be installed in mid-May.
The heating system and the oil tanks also still need to be disposed of by a specialist company.

So far, we have disposed of about 25 tons (wood, sand, concrete, small amounts of lightweight construction, glass wool, Heraklit boards).
We added everything up and have come to 480 euros for the disposal costs so far.
It is going quite well so far.

Here are 3 pictures of the house. Of course, the chimney still has to go.

Not much has happened lately. We have now completed all window openings as well as wall openings. The two chimneys have also been removed. In the next few days, we will start with the electrical work

Thank you for the update, it’s exciting to follow the developments. We have a similar project planned. Could you give some tips on the best approach, which tools you got, etc.? What would you do differently?

I talked to a friend who is an architect/structural engineer just to get an idea of the cost volume of such a core renovation. During the demolition, more stuff came together than expected. We hauled away about 60 tons of debris. Containers would have been much easier but also more expensive. I got a cheap Scheppach demolition hammer on sale for 69 or 79 euros and it handled everything I wanted. It has 20 joules of impact energy and could easily keep up with a friend's expensive Hilti during demolition. Sort the debris and don’t get mixed containers. I can’t give you many tips about tools. If you use cordless devices, stick to one brand. I have Bosch Professional. But there are plenty of other good brands. If you buy things at Hornbach or Bauhaus and find them cheaper in another hardware store, both will match the price and even add another 12 percent on top (low price guarantee). Get at least three, if not more, quotes from every major trade. The differences are enormous. We did the demolition and breakthroughs with steel beams ourselves. We are doing most of the electrical work ourselves. We have the plumbing and roofing done by professionals. Don’t take on too much. Unless you want to work on the house for 5 years. It can be really exhausting at times. Some things simply have to be done by a professional company. My plumbing installations were done within a week. I would have needed at least 8 weeks alone. Sure, it costs money but everyone has to decide for themselves how they want to do it.
