Pure rubble for free... Crazy. We live near Dresden, I can only dream of that. But okay, now I am informed on the subject. I would have thought that prices are the same throughout Germany. Learned something new. Here is the info on our prices for "Bauschutt" when delivered with a trailer:

And here is the fee for bulky waste. You get 2 cards free per year (that is 6 cubic meters), after that it becomes expensive...

It was 10 tons of sand. A friend took it for her horse's paddock. We were able to dispose of the wood for free at our recycling center. Concrete costs 13 euros per ton at our local disposer. Lightweight construction materials (aerated concrete or pumice) cost, I think, 130 euros per ton. I checked where glass wool was cheapest and paid 90 euros for 2 cubic meters of glass wool. You have to separate a lot and look for the cheapest options. It takes a lot of time but also saves a lot of money. If I had taken mixed containers, I would have easily been 5,000 euros poorer.

look for a local steel dealer who will cut the steel beams to length for you. I asked my structural engineer how I should install the steel beams. I did it according to his instructions. Find a structural engineer and ask him.

So the windows are now installed. Next week the scaffolding will arrive so the roof can be done. We will take down the roof tiles and the substructure ourselves. The rest will be done by the roofer. Here are two pictures of the house.
