I see it exactly the same way. We also didn’t feel like moving into a house and living the first years with compromises like a gravel yard, no patio furniture, no garage, or a field without a fence as a garden. If I move in somewhere and live there, I want it to be nice from the beginning and feel comfortable there.

For us, the question was also how people manage to save the money for the garage in the first years after moving in and then build it after five years or design the outdoor areas. Where does the money suddenly come from?

There are also many who receive a bonus payment once a year, from which something can be bought again.

Best regards

We also know enough people who were able to pay for the property or similar through inheritance or gifts within the family (for tax saving + the positive effect that the older generation can still experience the joy and realization of the younger generation's wishes).

That is also common in some industries. If both work there...

Immediate consumption = more credit. The opposite is restraint and saving. Then I keep a larger buffer in my budget, and from that I plan my follow-up projects. It’s often a matter of personality.

Immediate consumption did not mean more credit for us. We deliberately chose against a new building house and for a condominium. It cost about half as much and we could remodel/equip everything as we wanted without increasing the basic loan or having to do without anything in the coming years. The monthly payment is (despite proper repayment) so low in relation to income that we don’t have to restrict ourselves despite the property.

Personally, I would find it dreadful to have to do without something because of a property. I only live once and want to enjoy my life - here and now.
