Without meaning to offend you, but becoming A13 in the senior service as a woman during/after parental leave is (at least in Bavaria) difficult to impossible. For that, you need the SL qualification, which you only get if you have the evaluation for it, and that in turn is something very few women achieve before their 50th birthday. But that may be a Bavarian problem. Therefore, it is probably a luxury to be able to take this step BEFORE parental leave and afterwards work part-time in a relaxed manner (which by the way can be perfectly combined with parental allowance).

Is there even a plot of land for 100,000 euros, or is this all just estimated now?

Best regards
Sabine

So, once again a few answers to all the comments from my side:

My girlfriend moves up one salary step each year. She is currently working at A10 but has an A13 position. Everything agreed upon. Due to a very good degree, she can increase annually here, salary step reductions, etc. So everything is definitely safe. Such cases are apparently very very rare, which is why the question arises

But I see it like Tassimat:

We have good salaries, have also saved good equity and a good buffer for our age. The house costs are definitely realistic according to the available offers and we have also thought about the future.

Definitely important is still the adjustment of the repayment rates, that's true! It would also help us a lot.

Plot 550m²: 100k --> Notarial fixation in August ([165€/m²]) + incidental costs

What is an SL suitability?

Due to a high possible repayment and savings rate on our part in the next 6-7 years, I also see the possibility of setting such a repayment rate. With flexibility in the rate during the children's years, this definitely should not cause us financial problems.

I would see a problem if we had no buffer and the wife were not a civil servant and thus could not switch to part-time work at any time.
