But as I said... It is definitely also my fault that I respond to every comment directly here. I just had something different in mind and expected other opinions/information on this instead of fundamental discussions about the salary

Well then, if you think it fits - let's go.

(It is misleading to state this salary increase in the initial post, it simply creates the impression that this benefit is definitely included.)

I don't fully understand what you wanted to hear anyway if you are so sure - but if it just made you even more sure now, all the better.

Yes, to some extent it probably did lead to that, that's fine, thank you

Somehow that doesn't fit

not together with this here:

Certainly not very security-conscious – nor risky – but you are by no means the first here to see yourself as "something quite special." No offense meant, just an observation

That remains to be seen as well I also counted myself among the 5% in advance, but the first and second year of the loan simply does not allow it, as the construction is not yet completed, many additional costs have arisen, and at the latest with moving in, numerous expensive items have to be purchased, such as garden furniture. Not everything is predictable and things always turn out differently than expected.

To highlight a positive example. We are now in the second year and have used the special repayment in full twice. And if it were allowed, we would have repaid even more. It depends on the attitude. I'd rather make a special repayment than buy a new car even though the old one isn't broken yet. I estimate the OP similarly. It is similar with my sister and also with some acquaintances. I am really surprised that so many people apparently do not take advantage of the special repayments. In the circle of friends and family, the attitude is different. But I guess it also depends on what parents instilled in you.
