So, I would have preferred if our building land had been developed and marketed by the municipality, not the Volksbank. Not because of the price, the Volksbank was fair in that regard, but because of the allocation criteria. The Volksbank sold to everyone. Not good for a seaside resort with otherwise exorbitant land prices and pressure from older city dwellers moving in. But is that the clientele you want to serve with building land? Hamburgers or even Württembergers or Baden couples over 60 without children? Our building area is also interspersed with weekend houses owned by Hamburgers who only occupy them sporadically. A local residents' model would be more to my liking. Karsten

"Asylum" for wealthy city refugees is not the task of a municipality. The example of Sylt should actually make it clear that the local real estate market must be regulated if necessary before locals can no longer afford mere housing.

Sylt is certainly the extreme example. But here, people also pay 300 per sqm for land near the harbor or beach. The old lighthouse keeper's house was sold on June 6th for over half a million, an old 78 sqm little house, but with a plot of land directly on the water. That's how the market is, which is why I would support some kind of regulation in new development areas, such as Locals First. Let's say, for one year, sales are only allowed to locals. After that, anyone can buy. And only primary residents should be allowed in new development areas.

I have a different model in mind: anyone who wants a holiday apartment there must build a second - larger - residential unit for primary residents. Almost like an inverted granny flat.

Well, but how do you want to do that? Does everyone born on Sylt have the right to acquire property there?

Sure, I also think it's stupid that you have to leave the island, away from your parents, if you can't afford the prices...

But on the other hand, that's unfortunately just the market economy......I can't drive a Porsche just because my father drives one, unless he bequeaths it to me.....

New colleagues earn more than I do. What can I do? Exactly, look for another company.
