Thanks again for all the suggestions on your part!

They helped us a lot. We will definitely consider integrating a door from the hallway into the kitchen. We will probably also provide a connection for a shower in the ground floor bathroom or in the basement.

That was exactly the input we needed, so we were able to filter out from all the information what suits us best.

Unfortunately, everything else does not help us and does not fit our needs and ideas for the house. We just have a different style or a different value of "practical." For us, it’s not a big deal to walk down to the basement 5 times a day, nor to have a 1-meter longer way from the sofa to the kitchen.

I know that nowadays everything is designed to have the shortest possible walking distances and also, especially in the area of Smart Home or similar (it all ultimately aims at "practical"), to move as little as possible.

Some things from the old days (houses with basements from back then, for example) I don’t find so bad or even find good! I must say, I am not a fan of this movement minimization and not moving even a centimeter more. As a result, of course, our floor plan will be different than many others plan here.

For us, it is important here in this forum to filter the information that is useful.

In the end, it’s like in every forum, and everyone thinks their part:

No offense!! I am definitely like that too! Of course, everyone wants to pass on their experiences/needs/preferences to the respective people and help. But every person is individual and "different," so basically a 70% agreement of some people does not apply to all others. I think you know what I mean.

It was important to me that you pointed out where you think the "problems" are. We could completely refute these for ourselves (except for the things mentioned above that we will probably plan), which of course encourages us even more that we are doing everything right :)

We will now also sign in the next few days! I’m happy to post pictures or accompany the project here a bit once we start... Unfortunately, only in May :(

You have a clear idea and position then you will not be disappointed later or you know that this is how you wanted it. Worse would be if you kept agonizing endlessly, if necessary things can also be changed if life changes once! So....go!

That was never mentioned :) This is about practical orientation and experience.

Well, you are not even 30 years old, have no children yet, at that age I was fit as a fiddle and traveled the world from right to left. But it doesn't stay that way. Most of these "villas" lack a touch of coziness. The architects don't have it particularly hard either, they just open their drawer, how big should it be, 9x9? Ah, 20cm more per side, no problem, here you go in 10 minutes.

Maybe sometimes it’s also good for this very reason to move more, or not to pay attention to every little thing.

When I think about my grandparents or even parents... There was no flexibility, no matter where they went, they walked themselves ragged. You just had to go to the basement like 30 times because the house was partly terribly planned.

Satisfied? Yes, they are definitely. Fit? That too!

Yep, I know :) It’s just all connected a bit with all the things mentioned. Practical orientation has a completely different meaning for us, or rather, we see other things than many here, for example in the forum. But that’s why it’s simply important that individuality is taken into account here. In this area too, there is no "right" or "wrong"... If there were, every house would look the same and be identically equipped, both technically and spatially. Whether everything is 100% practically oriented or planned based on experience is not decisive for the feel-good factor in the house. I want to bring in my own house and my own individuality. And believe me, I know us quite well myself: We will easily get a stroller inside. Things that many other people would get bothered by do not interest us at all :D

But precisely because of that, we know exactly what we want. And as has already rightly said. You need a clear standpoint in life as well as regarding this project. If you have that, I am 100% convinced you will feel comfortable with what you have planned. If you plan things differently than what you actually want just because the "experience" or something else shows some people that it can be done "better" this or that way, maybe your house is planned more ergonomically and practically, but the personal point of reference with which you plan a house is missing here.

Regarding some of the floor plans that have landed in the forum here – yes – there really are some terrible drawings... You can actually "help" a bit or rather should dismiss the architect/planner straight away – but we are far from that :D

As I said, thanks for the input! We are really 100% satisfied with our house. The small construction sites that arise in 10, 20, or 30 years can always be solved :)

For a drawer-near design, I see here remarkably the coincidental success realized, that even a blonde hen sometimes drinks grain. The basic model Anstattvilla is not to be seen as a guarantee of a miserable result, but can certainly also be useful sometimes. It seems to me that the status "advanced run-of-the-mill" has been fully achieved here - in a way the Anstattvilla counterpart to the also not without reason best-selling Flair. "Not yet thirty and currently without attachments" I read as an argument "pro Pareto optimum". In fifteen years, one is still young there and the kids are not out of the house yet, thus still benefiting from a new build. I also had not been to San Francisco in torn jeans - some people don’t need to travel Interrail to the Himalayas for their happiness.
