I understand what you mean.

Thank you for the feedback. We will see if/how we will redesign something or not. Nonetheless, I was exactly expecting such suggestions.

By choosing a U-shape, you hardly gain any storage space compared to the two-liner. It’s also a corridor even with 50cm more width... When deciding between a two-liner, thus more space in the hallway, or a corridor-like U with bar stools and therefore no proper wardrobe, it would be clear to me what wins. Again: it’s a corridor either way.

I think we will settle for that. We have a huge hallway with a 1.60m coat rack and plenty of space in front of the stairs. For us, this is actually the optimal solution. We don’t yet know exactly how we will equip the kitchen in the end – but it will probably go in the direction of our floor plan with possibly a door.

We will simply have plenty of space between the dining area and the kitchen – which we will gladly take. The seating area with bar stools will surely loosen things up a bit. A redesign in this area is definitely out of the question, especially since we are very happy with the hallway area and our coat niche. I think you always have to make some compromises somewhere; we might be making them because our kitchen is not in an optimal ratio – but in the end, we simply have more “free space,” which can definitely never hurt.

Let’s see how the kitchen planning turns out in the end. Maybe I will also post it here – but first of all, in the next weeks/months we will go to a kitchen studio :)

I have two more suggestions. Then your EG won't seem so "boring"

That's why I immediately thought of our design. It's difficult to assess in detail because the dimensions can only be derived indirectly. The important measurements, such as living room and kitchen width, are not directly indicated. It first appears more like a corridor in your case, especially because you extended the hallway further down due to the recess for the wardrobe. But I must urgently point out how much space there is from the kitchen to the dining table. In our shell construction, we really have the problem that we have to ask ourselves: WHAT DO WE DO WITH ALL THIS SPACE? From our kitchen G to the window there is a lot of free space that now needs to be filled sensibly. I never wanted a counter with stools at the peninsula – but maybe it will be like that after all to visually close off the empty space.

How wide is the kitchen space? The measurements are cut off. Overall, much more empty space on the ground floor. The kitchen space is way too long, you keep walking and walking and end up closer to the neighbor than to the terrace.

Why anyone would want to look at the street is beyond me. I want to look into MY garden. What happens at the entrance is covered by cameras.
