You hit the nail on the head :)

I also believe that nowadays, with our attitude/opinion, especially regarding family life/professional situation/daycares/babysitters, etc., we are very traditionally minded. We are definitely in the minority but would still like to pass exactly these values on to our children.

All of this is also reflected in our house! That is exactly why we are certainly planning some things that a "modern" minded person would never plan.

Unlike the wardrobe, which I still miss a little :p, I’m totally with you here. Sure, a second shower is nice, but in my eyes only for a relatively short time. After that, just a cleaning object. It’s the same with my parents. The shower on the ground floor is taped off. No one has used it in 15 years. So for me, a kids’ bathroom is not an absolute must, but rather a nice-to-have.

I mainly read considered scenarios here from younger builders that one wants to be prepared for. Of course, there are many conceivable ones but always plus many unknown X-factors. What unfortunately is often given too little space are thoughts that life will be the way you usually suspect it to be in other families. Even if as a parent you have given "everything" (whatever that may be), children can develop completely differently than you want. Maybe siblings don’t get along at all and constantly and massively fight, maybe someone in the family needs more distance/privacy, also in the bathroom, the children approach the parents with really radical confrontation or develop in such a way that you don’t want them close to you for a while or they don’t want to be close to the parents. I don’t even want to describe the children as the main cause here, because we adults also constantly change (we just don’t like to notice it ourselves). Especially if you have small children or will have them soon, you can imagine this less and maybe (hopefully) it won’t happen. But if it does, I would find it very important to be able to give yourself such space and this especially includes a separate bathroom/toilet, which can simply be equipped as you like. You don’t have to have horror scenarios because of this, but children today are developing into increasingly independent beings with growing self-confidence. And the interaction among us adults also undergoes change and what once was sexy can eventually lead to yawning and, in the worst case, to intense resentment. I would NEVER have imagined having two bathrooms. We are two people today and I could NEVER imagine having only one bathroom anymore, unless it couldn’t be helped. When two 10-year-olds are working in the kitchen or bathroom, the parents enjoy watching; when the same happens with two 17-year-olds in a bad mood at late hours and the parents are correspondingly older, the same circumstance suddenly feels completely different.

Our guest shower is actually used 10-15 times a year, but an unplanned task has come up, the dryer is standing in there like a tower, and it works even when soaking wet.

So if I'm not mistaken, was more or less told that the financing is going to be very tight. And now he is being told that urgently this and that is still needed....

That’s right, the topic back then :D

So it definitely isn’t tight, but we also don’t have money to "throw out the window" :D

You have to set priorities.. Our house is already expensive enough :D
