Actually, I think it works quite well and you also have enough space. The kitchen itself has a depth of about 2.50m - 3.00m. To the end of the wall, it would be just over 6.00m. But I don’t use that completely for the kitchen, do I?

But why wouldn’t our room be suitable for a U-shape now? We would like a U-shape because it would give us more space options and also a "bar area" or "island area" to sit at. In a U-shape with 2 meters of free walking space would be enough, right? At least that’s what our kitchen planner said back then :D

The floor plan was similar in the forum once, correct! At least the one from the kitchen back then. However, I think the kitchen was even 50cm narrower. That’s why it’s totally outdated and the two-liner is probably no longer as practical as back then.

These are really all good ideas, but this floor plan is not really our style. It simply wouldn’t suit us :D

Very nice! But the kitchen is quite similar to ours, isn't it? So also purely in terms of dimensions? Whether I ultimately plan the thing with the tall cabinets etc. as it is currently drawn, is still up in the air. But purely the room itself is okay, right? You also have a lot of space between dining room and kitchen – similar to us. As I said, whether I pull the kitchen all the way down to the south or not is of course a matter of planning. As I said, we are not yet at the detail planning stage – ultimately it’s only about the room and it should be suitable for an L-, U- or two-row layout left-right, right? Just simply independent of our current thoughts?

The office doesn’t bother us, or conflict with the kitchen? We therefore have less space than you in the living areas, hallway etc., but we do have an office on the ground floor, which I find much nicer than in the basement. We have a pure utility basement, without windows/light shafts. I think we have generously sized the space on the ground floor so that the office actually deserves its place.

These 3D wide-angle shots can be extremely misleading. Don’t rely on them too much.

That's true, we noticed that too. Nevertheless: Is there any "minimum dimension" for a U-shaped kitchen? Meaning, a minimum width below which it would not make sense/could not work for us? As already mentioned, this is not the final planning. It looks so narrow and large because we have also densely filled it accordingly! The kitchen is more than fully equipped. It might also be that everything gets a bit narrower. This way I have an open space to the dining room, similar to .

First and foremost, the ratio of length to width should be right. This one would be too long for my taste in terms of width, or too narrow for the length.
