Storage space is mainly created by the floor space for large cabinets. It is usually bad to plan many small rooms and niches where only mini-cabinets can fit. Such "little rooms" and the areas are then lost for other uses.
In your furnished floor plan, your argument becomes clear. I have to agree with you there. I still find it hard to imagine that the space will be enough for us, but we will only find out when we go into more detailed planning of everything we want to accommodate. We will try to get a better overview this weekend of how much space we currently occupy.
A WC with 1m width has no shower. That would be important to me with 4 people. If I were you, I would also pay attention to that.
Right, I do not want to give that up.
But if the terrace doors are properly tall and wide, it is not dark either. From that point of view, I found it okay. Such a narrow living room would have been too cramped for me – but of course, that is a matter of personal priorities.
It was a really good suggestion to plan the kitchen that way. I also see some advantages. I cannot currently say the window height, but for now, 2x2m and 1x1m are planned. That could still be adjusted further; a larger sliding door would also be possible. Always having a view of the garden while working is certainly great.
I now have to coordinate again with the architect and builder about what should be planned by whom at what level of detail and at what time. The construction (earthworks) is supposed to start in mid/end of summer if everything goes according to plan. I also do not quite understand why, from his side, the house connections absolutely have to be on the right side of the house. Maybe because the bathroom is on the upper floor and the kitchen is there? Maybe because he plans the outdoor unit of the heat pump there?
