Of course, in Katja's design, living and kitchen can also be swapped ...

In your furnished floor plan, your argument becomes clear. I have to agree with you there. I still find it hard to imagine that the space will be enough for us, but we will only find out when we go into more detailed planning of everything we want to accommodate. We will try to get a better overview this weekend of how much space we currently occupy.

Right, I do not want to give that up.

It was a really good suggestion to plan the kitchen that way. I also see some advantages. I cannot currently say the window height, but for now, 2x2m and 1x1m are planned. That could still be adjusted further; a larger sliding door would also be possible. Always having a view of the garden while working is certainly great.

I now have to coordinate again with the architect and builder about what should be planned by whom at what level of detail and at what time. The construction (earthworks) is supposed to start in mid/end of summer if everything goes according to plan. I also do not quite understand why, from his side, the house connections absolutely have to be on the right side of the house. Maybe because the bathroom is on the upper floor and the kitchen is there? Maybe because he plans the outdoor unit of the heat pump there?

The house connections must come from the street, so here from the right side of the plan or the top side of the plan. The bicycle shed could possibly be extended for a storage room, and it can also be insulated.

The house connections also come from the top of the plan for the other corner house and the middle house. Therefore, I had thought it would be sensible to implement it the same way for us. However, the current architect is reluctant about this, and I still don't know why. But it should be possible to find out.

As already mentioned by Nida35a, with a ceiling height of 3 m I would install hanging floors in several rooms, then you have enough storage space for things you rarely need. And with good use of space, you can also fit a larger shelf in the utility room.
