With usable walking width, doesn't the handrail come into play?

We have 15/26. The 26 is fine. Only 16 steps would be better.

I hope it’s really not just a lack of imagination to remove the shower and allocate the space back to the utility room or to overcome the 1.5m to the pantry:

It’s okay if you’re so attached to your straight holy staircase, but I would definitely move the garage away from the sun and add light from the west.

What did the architect say about what is supposed to happen with the space under the stairs? Is at least a door planned there? It's annoying if you have to imagine everything yourself.

But it's okay like this, the laundry room upstairs might not be such a bad idea, we'll sketch it out and see how big the rooms upstairs will be.

What we would really like is a dining area-kitchen in a straight line, living area hidden around the corner, even if it gets smaller because of that, but we don’t want to place a sofa (a spacious L-shaped sofa) in front of the window front to the terrace.. the second window facing west would perhaps then be removed, because over the sofa opposite the TV?! So there would still be one at the front in the corner, in front of or between the cupboard wall, which of course is another advantage, that you can pull the terrace around the corner to the west side.
Because some are criticising the 10sqm "living area" here, here is an example with our sofa from the current apartment, used as a room divider, the visible area up to the wall is 10.5sqm, comfortably fitting 5 people, distance to the TV with 48 inch we find sufficient and ideal, overall cozy.
When 20 people visit, it’s chaos anyway and everyone sits somewhere / somehow, but that only happens three times a year, for that you can put a large table like that..

Something like that it would be if you mirror it and put the garage on the other side.. the sofa corner can still be a bit bigger, depending on the stairs/size of the utility room.

Whether a straight or platform staircase we will still consider from a financial perspective (wider upper floor).

Yes, with a straight staircase there would still be a room under the stairs, which would either be accessible from the utility room if the stairs start from the living room, if they start from the hallway, then from the side, you could still hide drinks or similar there...

Thank you for your efforts and help..

Then swap the kitchen and living room in Kaho's design.

Washing laundry on the sleeping level is practical. Most of it simply happens there

Oh dear, please no! Ok, first we need to awaken your house-building mantra:

You are now builders! You are building your dream house! Compromises are only made in extreme emergencies - otherwise, you only accept optimal dream house standards! As you have been used to until now is soon a thing of the past and it was all rubbish! You don't want that anymore.

I hope it helps.
