Hello,

after a long time we would like to get back in touch, we have accepted some thoughts and suggestions from here and above all abandoned our original wish for the straight staircase.
We are now quite glad about it, as we have managed to create really nicer rooms on the upper floor.
I have attached the current floor plan; if anyone notices a major mistake or something questionable, they are welcome to point it out.

Many thanks at this point again, also for the example floor plan drafts and the efforts of some here!

I don't think it's bad. It's a shame that the children's rooms are so different. That would annoy me a lot. I find the T in the bathroom really unsuitable in this case. It creates tightness and feels uncomfortable. Also wastes square meters. I also find the bedroom somewhat too large in relation to its use. I had already made a similar suggestion:

I would make the bathroom a little smaller, move the wardrobe in the bedroom, and everything shifts towards the top of the plan. In the end, I push the wall between the children’s rooms back and forth until they are the same size.

On the ground floor, I find the entire use under the stairs questionable:
1. The door from the garage makes the use practically impossible. The entire floor space is lost. The additional wall where this door hinges prevents the use of the room behind it. Get rid of it!
2. A utility sink in this tiny room? What for? One meter away is the kitchen with the sink.
3. The heating circuit distributor takes up the last remaining space. Sure, you can put something in front of it. But heaven forbid you have to access it someday.

All of that would go away for me. What remains is an empty room, where I would probably put a nice big extra fridge and fill the rest with shelves. Under the staircase platform, there could be something like cardboard or glass recycling.

The partition wall to the living room is basically nonsense. I don't know if it really makes it cozier? I rather see that it only makes it tighter.

Sorry, in the end I come back to my own design and move the kitchen to the living room entrance.

, What is the fancy fridge for one is the second sink for another (Karsten scrubs fish and potatoes there ) However, of course you are right. But this wall by the stairs/pantry is not just standing there: it supports the upper wall. Moreover, ZFTS definitely stands for a steel beam, which makes structural sense. Therefore, I also advocate shortening this wall

Here is a suggestion for the upper floor with two equivalent children's rooms, and a parental wing in the east.

Me too: swap living room and kitchen in Katja's proposal. The pantry door can also move to the right

Wow, he should steer clear with that stinky fish! That wouldn't happen at my place!

Oh damn, better not mess with the statics.

You killed the office, didn't you? I think that's needed though.

Oh, laugh, I thought that was a dressing room (I was already wondering where the PC would go and thought of a laptop with a printer in the pantry).

Well, then partition the room at the top of the stairs from the bedroom. I don’t know if the dimensions will work out, but it’s an idea... : why don’t you draw it, my iPad doesn’t do that kind of thing. I haven’t found a decent program yet.
