The room layout has something of a high-quality townhouse floor from 1880, I can well imagine living there. Put the current design aside now, and start the next one with different focuses. By the time the architect is finished, you will have your own solutions and can continue with him on an equal footing, you are on a good path.

these are the first two points for an update. I see the kitchen on the left in the open space, but hardly any counter space in front of the windows. The route with the groceries to the kitchen is very long
