Feedback on the Ikea kitchen

I do not see any waste of space with the carousel at all. We have two of them in the kitchen – so many things that we store there would never have fit without the carousels... Each requires 30cm of space on each side, it looks like this:

: Have some fun and calculate how much shelf space your two carousel shelves have, and then calculate how much more shelf space you would have in the drawers/cabinets if you had gone all the way into the corner with them.

I bet you'll come out at about +/- 0.

We created the space for large pots and pans with oversized (width and height) drawers.

Yes, but not that much fits into the inner width of then 2x approx. 25 cm

It's not about putting two 25 cm cabinets there, but rather making the adjacent cabinets each 25 cm wider.
But I also agree with you: No matter how big the kitchen is - woman (man) always finds a way to fill it up.

If a handle or something slipped so unfavorably that the carousel no longer opens or it jams, you change your opinion as well. I know this from my parents and am happy not to have one anymore. You only really gain space in exceptional cases. My parents have the carousel at the back in a U-shaped 6sqm kitchen, where no normal cabinet would have otherwise fit.
