I don’t think you will change your mind, but even large windows do not make the room significantly friendlier. I once had the fun to take the same picture with the same exposure – hung at a distance of 3 m from the window area each time. Our office building offers everything and thanks to Corona, everyone is working from home except me. :) All walls are Alpine white, every room has a complete window wall. The building stands freely, no foliage in front of the windows. Today slight veil clouds, photographed at 11:20 on the second floor.

Thank you very much.. Definitely a noticeable difference... What do I do now...??? All rooms facing south...!!! The living and dining room facing south.. Ideally a bit of light in the kitchen as well,, off to the south.... That leaves bathroom and bedroom... how do I distribute them now on NORTH; EAST; WEST...? Seriously, for a certain time, the entire life takes place in the living room.. Then comes a time when the kids spend more time in their rooms Then comes a time when the kids are hardly at home Then comes a time when the kids are completely gone... Then there are also different times of day and seasons.... Hardly feasible to have the perfect sunlight at every minute of the year, right? The bedroom could, in my opinion, also be on the north side, however, the noise from the street would bother me.. kids are much less sensitive to that.... Kids ONLY on the north side would never, ever occur to me... So you would recommend the kids in the south? Thanks again

At 15, children might even voluntarily go down to the basement, if I look at my light-shy nephews and nieces. But yes, I would really only allow children maximum light. Crafting, painting, reading, building, playing, all that happens for children during daylight hours. Children's rooms are both an office and a living room for children at the same time. And as for the noise in the bedroom - with triple glazing and modern insulation, you hardly hear anything there.

I think the architect can advise you very well there. He also knows where which rooms should be oriented. And hopefully he will also suggest an expanded roof to you :D

Storage rooms and the guest toilet are located in the north. Personally, I would place the common rooms in the south. That's where the clan spends most of the time. Crafts are done at the dining table and later, I think, homework will be done there too. The bedroom is a tricky one. I like to lie on the bed, read, and have the sun on me. I find children's rooms in the west completely fine. In the morning, the room is less occupied. In the afternoon, more so, and then the sun shines nicely in (depending on the depth of the roof overhang). The bathroom doesn’t really matter; a lamp is enough there.
