Yes, I’m really glad my father can assess it very well. This week, he and my boyfriend also broke up and repaved my parents’ yard and driveway in three days. But a whole house is simply not feasible anymore... also because of the stress level.

I also think that the construction will be more expensive. We paid 400k last year with everything included (145 sqm). Partly paving and fencing are still missing, though.

The land alone cost 115k. We also have gas with solar thermal controlled residential ventilation + heat recovery. I don't know what people have against the heating. We have now used 7800 kWh of gas in one year. That's 30-35€ per month for heating. What do you have against gas? It doesn't get cheaper. By the way, no one needs to bring up environmental aspects and no one needs to mention the name Putin.

The word "observe" relativizes quite a bit. In fact, you hardly save anything because with Town & Country construction supervision is included and you pay for it. My construction coordinator also knows quite a few companies. Still, they all want to see money. I have found that online goods/hardware store goods do not want to and will not be installed by professional tradespeople. But you have to experience that for yourselves. As long as you cannot do anything yourself, like tiling walls and floors in the bathroom, you only save the difference to the general contractor's surcharge on materials. That may make a difference for some items, but whether you stay within budget you will realize very quickly.

It was not about gas or no gas, but about radiators or underfloor heating.

Best regards

Except for the bathroom and kitchen, we do the floors ourselves, paint ourselves, paint woodwork ourselves, pave ourselves, do the terrace ourselves, do the base at the entrance ourselves....

Still, it’s just a good feeling when my father keeps an eye on it

Congratulations - to each their own.
I, on the other hand, am glad that a gas connection was rejected for the new building area in my community.
All 25 who voted agreed - heat pumps of any kind are future-oriented.
And that’s right - it won’t get cheaper - only more expensive ; )
