As has thankfully mentioned, I have so far asked twice about the Town & Country offer, not about the bank's... I think this will shed light on the matter for whichever "side".

My father is a master mason and a passionate craftsman, he has all kinds of stuff, just like numerous contacts to other people who have all kinds of things.

And then you build with Town & Country? Couldn't your father have helped through personal work or through appropriate contacts in the construction industry?

An acquaintance also does a lot himself in construction, he apparently also has a mason in his circle of acquaintances, who then took two laymen with him, gave them a crash course in masonry, and they mostly do the shell construction themselves. At least it saves VAT.

As mentioned before, I had initially misunderstood and then wrote that I would post the offer this evening.

My father can no longer do heavy work due to health reasons. He is an early retiree and will "oversee" the construction. He has many contacts, so we are getting both help and materials for the terrace, paving, etc. cheaper. Since we are building 65 km away from our current residence, namely in my home village, we wanted to have many things done by a company and not have to take care of a thousand things ourselves. Other factors also played a role. In the end, we decided on Town & Country.

Ok. I definitely imagine it to be very helpful to have craftsmen in the family or circle of acquaintances, even if they are no longer able to do it due to health reasons. But already because of the know-how.

We cannot rely on that and have to have everything done by professional companies and can only difficultly assess the quality of their work.
