I spoke with an energy consultant. With heat pumps, exact attention must be paid to the perfect design of the heating system. If anything goes wrong during planning or execution, you’re quickly stuck with such a system. And he says that in over 50% of cases such serious errors occur. I am deeply concerned about this too.

Gas is currently rather inexpensive, electricity is expensive. One must not forget that. A few years ago, gas was considerably more expensive.

I hardly believe that electricity will become cheaper again. On the contrary, once enough has been switched to renewable energies, the government will no longer be forced to subsidize [Wärmestrom].

Subsidized heat electricity, i.e. second meter, is not worthwhile for a house > Energy Saving Ordinance 16 anyway. What will happen with gas prices is also unknown; with the dependence on Russia, it can quickly become 100% more expensive.

If it becomes like in Denmark, where no gas heating systems are allowed to be installed in new buildings anymore, then demand will drop massively and supply will remain constant for decades. But of course, a Russia risk cannot be completely ruled out.

You absolutely have to keep this energy consultant! Surely you can have him review the planning?
