... and precisely because of the issue with the staircase to the attic, the staircase position is fundamentally wrong. Entrance on the side, staircase more centered, guest toilet and a mega wardrobe... that's where it starts

The windows are too tight... and also not nicely arranged. Usable space is completely oversized, 2 offices? For that, the living room and open space area are too small. The 6 family members should all get a sofa seat, right?

If by more central is meant, for example, putting the staircase in place of the bathroom but still against the outer wall: it won’t be different upstairs.

We had a comparable staircase problem and possible solutions suggested by the architect were:
- Landing staircase (you can have a reasonably comfortable standing height in the inner area of the staircase despite the sloped roof, but it still shouldn’t be a 2-meter giant)
- Staircase away from the outer wall
but this creates spaces between the outer wall and the staircase
- Staircase completely placed on the ridge wall

Could you imagine moving the bedroom to the attic and assigning the previously planned attic bedroom to the attic? If a bedroom is needed on the ground floor at some point, one could "simply" put up a wall then.

A draft for once. However, I don’t quite manage the 12m, but end up at 12.35m. The main reason is the wardrobe – I have drawn in a 3m long wardrobe with a depth of 45cm (that’s about as deep as mine). You definitely need that for 6 people.

The couches in the living room are each 2.50m wide so that there’s room for everyone, and there’s an additional armchair for Dad.
Dining table 2m – everyone has enough space comfortably.

The lighting orientation is probably not optimal here. I only get the southern sun partially into the living area. Reflecting is questionable – then the living area would face the street and away from the garden.

We’ll see if others have any ideas.
Oh, I mostly left out the windows out of laziness. Stairs as always, no landing! (program issue). Water disposal in the bathroom is also not clear yet. Maybe swap the office and bathroom and dispose of it in the hallway downstairs.

Of course, one could just mirror the stairs... because of the water problem.

Hello again,

thank you very much for the lively participation in the discussion.

: The wardrobe is planned behind the door in the niche and the laundry chute is also planned (the circle in the bathroom next to the sink).

: Entrance from the side is conceivable, mega wardrobe too, but we don’t need a guest toilet. You find the windows too narrow and not nicely arranged either. I can’t quite understand that. Two offices are needed because I work a lot from home (like today) and my wife would like a room that she can also lock. Neither needs to be large, but both should be there.

: Which stair variant have you chosen? Going to the bedroom in the attic is of course conceivable, but actually we wanted to convert the attic (also for cost reasons) later and then use it as a playroom for the children. But adding the wall afterwards is of course a good idea.

: Very cool, thanks for your designs. The width of 12m is fixed, that’s the building boundary. Basically, I really like it and in a pinch I could also come to terms with a bedroom facing the street. If you have a good controlled residential ventilation system, the open window shouldn’t really matter anymore anyway. What I don’t understand is what problem there is with water disposal in the bathroom.
...and would the staircase to the attic also fit (Maria problem)?

Best regards
Johannes

The bathrooms would then be stacked on top of each other which makes drainage easier. The pipes then do not run through the living room
