That is definitely a matter of taste. Let’s see what the OP decides. For example, I find it claustrophobic to lie in bed and not see a door. It’s like being locked in. And I also find the idea unpleasant if a child wants to crawl to the parents at night and first has to walk through a creepy labyrinth of ceiling-high dark wardrobes full of clothes.

We will probably close off the dressing room to the bedroom. But there will be 2 doors, one for the bedroom and one for the dressing room.

Reconsider the position of the refrigerator. When the door is open and someone is standing in front of it, it is difficult to get around the island or into the dining room (but I might be a bit off with the dimensions). We have a similar setup, so I know that this happens more often than you might think. For example, one person takes the snack items out of the fridge, another sets the table.

I wouldn't do it like that anymore today.

Turn the stairs, then you have the pantry in the approach path of the kitchen.
Upstairs I would try to get the 2 children's rooms next to each other and separate the bedroom from them.

Between the island and the refrigerator there are now just under 120cm. In my opinion, the doors are 45 and 35cm. I find that marginal.

Turning the stairs... because of the door or storage room I had thought about it too. But then I thought light from the kitchen door might be better. But it can be done.
