That is definitely a matter of taste. Let's see what the OP decides.
For example, I find it claustrophobic to lie in bed and not see a door. As if you were locked in. And I also find the idea unpleasant if a child wants to crawl to the parents at night and first has to walk through a creepy labyrinth of ceiling-high dark wardrobes full of clothes.
People are so different. For example, I don’t want to see a door because I find it uncomfortable. Neither in the bedroom nor in the living room.
If a child bursts into the bedroom and rips the door open next to my bed, I would shit my pants out of shock :P
