Are doors necessary on our ground floor? Floor plan attached

I personally would leave the doors as shown in the plan

The house doesn't need a kitchen door.

Then one should rather think about the stairs in the living room, because there should be the least noise coming from the front door ;)

I agree, the stairs there wouldn’t be suitable for me either. However, it wasn’t just about the “absolute” noise level (depending on the design of the doors upstairs and the construction itself, you can still achieve quite a bit on the upper floor). I was more referring to the abstract disturbance that an entry/exit area can have (door open, closed, oh, forgot something, open again, keys jingling, …); as I said, it depends on the daily routine.

I’m also laughing a lot about the living room right now. Then the opening to the hallway and the front door won’t bother anymore. :D

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry… also two drainage pipes run through the living room… because the bathroom is above it.

The storage room could really use a door! Apparently, according to the plan, there shouldn’t be one.

Depending on the marital status... Sliding doors are great for crawling babies/toddlers. You keep them in the room and away from all the shoes and dirt in the entrance area.

And for coziness, you sometimes close them as well. There are also very stylish glass panels, which makes it nice to look at too.
