For the autumn, there was nothing affordable either. I wouldn’t have thought that either. I searched online and even through a cheap travel agency (that was in January), it didn’t matter to me whether it was summer or autumn.

[Pfingsferien] exist only in a few federal states. Unfortunately, we don’t have them.

As I said, we then spent 3 weeks in the Black Forest and had an unforgettable beautiful hiking holiday with almost daily visits to the outdoor pool, I regret nothing.

I just did that. Not like a meticulous workday where everything has to be forensic and court-admissible, but I googled around a bit and came to the conclusion: it’s about the costs, how much the _German vacationer_ is on average willing (or has done) to pay in total for their vacation.
It’s not about the average German, but about the average German vacationer.
So, if 40% of Germans travel, these 40% spend on average these 1000-something. And this does not mean the package booking, but the budget spent for the vacation including incidental costs.

Not for me at all. Forsa surveyed 14xy (one thousand four hundred and some) people via market research for this survey. Topic: vacationers. Topic was not: Germans.

Hm… We are probably considered DINK… plus at an age where you should be spending 300€ more. We could really splurge, especially since we’re used to flying vacations from our parents. However, we enjoy camping. For me exactly what was not modeled for me. Let Forsa come to me with that

Nope, you (I think) are not DINK. Those are couples of reproductive age who have no kids. Whose kids are already grown up actually don’t count.

The term »DINK« comes from marketing and refers to a target group. DINK is the abbreviation for »Double Income, No Kids« and describes couples without children with double income. Since they usually earn a relatively high income, they are a popular target group for advertising.“ The source is unnecessary given the explanation
Double Income, No Kids, that applies to us, so it has nothing to do with the ability to reproduce.
All good ;)

"The acronym DINK (English for double (or dual) income no kids, in German “double income, no children”) refers to people of reproductive age who live in a couple relationship but have no children yet or want to remain childless; they live together as a married, more often unmarried couple, are usually both employed and have a correspondingly high (double) household income, but not necessarily a university degree like many dual-career couples.

Since there are no children to care for, the compatibility of family and work is less relevant for DINKs.

Older couples living alone because their adult children have moved out do not count as DINKs,". Source: wiki.

And to my knowledge, you do have adult kids.

The discussion is purely academic. It is about the fact that a lot of income is available for self-realization (but not automatically more time). That means a lot of money is spent on supposedly high-quality products.
