But the neighbors get as old as you do. And simply buy a new dog. Where is the problem in sealing the poop in plastic bags before throwing it in the trash can? Can the neighbors be retrained?

He also stinks when he is in bags. We have a dog ourselves and fortunately the residual waste bin is under the carport... far away from any seating area. This also applies to the organic waste bin.

Dogs come and go, just like other pets and other neighbors. That's just the way it is. As long as you don't catch a total terrorist, I wouldn't move because of that (yes, I've also had impossible neighbors).

If he is allowed to do so according to the development plan, a conversation would not have helped anyway or he doesn’t have to talk to you! As stupid as it is.

My neighbors had an unobstructed view of the forest for 3 years until 5 months ago, before our construction phase had started. Suddenly, a few houses stand there.

Now we have the unobstructed view from the living area and he is visibly disappointed, which I can also understand.

The garage is right on the boundary, but still on his property. I can't imagine that I am allowed to just beautify the bricks of his garage, can I?

The properties are separated by "arborvitae," there is no fence in between and the dogs always crawl under. But we will put up a fence now.

The neighbors are not terrible at all. We get along well! But somehow it’s uncomfortable for me to tell them about the smell..

It’s quite uncomfortable for me, but I will probably have to do it. Now in winter of course nothing smells, but we are not on the terrace either..

Their bins are also at the garage, about 7-8 m from our terrace. But the wind blows everything over..

By the way, there are 3 dogs. 2 are nicely older and about 6 months ago they got a younger one.

He was not supposed to get permission from us, but I would have expected to be informed beforehand. After all, the workers constantly stepped into our bed and also put things on our property and constantly parked in our parking spaces while the garage was being set up. But the people from the construction company can't do anything about that either.

One day it was so cold that I brought the workers something warm to drink and a homemade cake. The employee just told me that the client was really annoying and had told them that they could calmly go onto our property, his own gardener would fix it if anything got broken..

Well, that's quite cheeky.

You have to say, having a situation where one property is completely finished including the garden and the other isn't, I don't find it a relaxed situation. Unfortunately, as a builder, you can quickly step into a trap, because you can only anticipate people's reactions.

But just doing it without asking... not acceptable.

The crew dumped our excavation material on the neighbor's property. In hindsight, they didn't even know that I had asked the neighbor if I was allowed to do that. They were just surprised that nobody complained :-p. Our luck is that the neighbor is only starting this year.

It's really tough that 613 sqm are not enough to store soil excavation.

This also shows how valuable it is to get to know all the neighbors before starting construction, so you know where you need to resolve things if something like this comes up.

Well, I wouldn’t be too narrow-minded about construction work. When you want to build something yourself, your own people probably run over to the neighbor's place too. That’s just how it is. But you made the best of it.

I would address the dog issue politely. You could say: "It’s a bit unfortunate for me, but I have to bring something up. Unfortunately, your Schnuffi-AA in the bin can be smelled on our terrace. We’ve already been thinking about what could be done...blahblahblah."

Our dog also constantly did his business at the neighbor’s without us knowing. At some point the neighbor told us and it was very embarrassing for us. Of course, we immediately built a fence. We were glad that he told us and that he remained so nice.
