By the way, we followed the hype 5 years ago and bought a built-in steam oven from Neff. It does what it’s supposed to do... but I can and do rather do that on the stove. I simply lack the routine with the device. In the water pot, I know everything... it feels like we wasted money - even though the potatoes taste very good...

Yes, I would say everyone has their kitchen helpers and some are used more or less. And most appliances have their reason for existence. I could also get along well with a blender, Kitchenaid, steam cooker, pressure cooker.

With the TM, you also need a pan or oven, because for example, the roulades are seared at the beginning for the roasted flavors.

invest a few more € in a steam cooking cookbook (or have it gifted to you) - or were there no recipes included? It’s worth it. Another advantage of the steam oven is that you don’t have to stay with it because nothing can boil over.
Open the door, put in sliced Kassler, close the door
Open the door, put in the potatoes, close the door
Open the door, put in the carrots, close the door
Open the door - everything onto the plate: delicious
Total time approx. 20 minutes.

I don’t necessarily want to advertise for the thing, I don’t use all its possibilities either. I just want to take away the feeling of wasting money from you.

thank you
Sometimes I'm on YouTube, recently for the asparagus story combined with the potatoes... now I don't remember again what goes in first.
I used to love cookbooks... yes, maybe that would be a way to get some basic knowledge into my head alongside all the improvisation.

But wait: You were the one who despised cooking?!?

For clarity: preparation at the push of a button is out of the question for me

and now I'll reveal that dertill's original claim was of course silly and it simply amused me that you apparently took it seriously. I just carried it further, but now it's over, otherwise you might end up indignantly going to Brussels.

Exactly. From Napoleon. Great grill. We have the Rogue, a big bird fits on it too! And with such a grill, you can keep the temperature really well. Provided there is enough gas.
Soon spare ribs will be placed on it. Yamyam.
