Nevertheless, as a tool it is just too expensive, plain and simple! An iPhone is also too expensive.
Even though I completely agree with you about the TM, I want to slightly disagree here, because whether something is too expensive or not, be it TM, iPhone, or a visit to a Michelin-starred restaurant, is actually always a personal matter, right? It depends on the available budget, the usage profile, and the individual requirements for the good piece, I would say. Regarding the TM: it is too expensive for me because assisted cooking is a horror to me, as is a completely planned cooking process. I enjoy cooking, so I don’t need everything to be planned out down to the minute to make the best use of the TM as a tool. That’s just not my use case. For others, it will look completely different. Same goes for the iPhone: unpack, turn on, it works. Fits smoothly into the Apple ecosystem. For me, it is a workhorse that saves me a lot of time. I don’t experience the limitations it might have compared to an Android. I never felt the need to root the system, access the file system directly, or anything like that. It runs and runs and runs and runs – and I also like it visually. My SE cost around €400, which was absolutely worth it for me. Someone else will certainly see it differently. And whether there is an apple on the back or not, I don’t care, it’s in a case anyway, so you can’t see it...
