Just spoke with the energy consultant of our general contractor: they do not have any eligible ventilation systems in their portfolio. Maybe one of the trades?

Called a plumber, no knowledge, needs to get informed first.

Called the sales manager of Helios: no experience with it, needs to get informed first.

Everything is actually described excellently at Zehnder. They even have a subsidy service.

Any central ventilation system is eligible for funding, provided that the heat pump and the ventilation system can be controlled together. According to BAFA, even a simple smart home solution is sufficient for this. It is not like with a heat pump, where there is a list of eligible systems. Your energy consultant apparently has no idea about the funding. Can you take out trades and assign them yourself? It would be worth considering if not even the installer knows about the funding.

There are no subsidies, what is always being said is really preposterous. You get your KFW55 subsidy and that’s it. It’s possible that there are regional programs in the federal states. I don’t know that. An air-to-water heat pump almost never meets the funding criteria. A central controlled residential ventilation system is not subsidized.

Then you better inform yourself properly. If you have an eligible heat pump, then a jointly controlled controlled residential ventilation system is eligible for funding. This is explicitly stated in the BAFA information sheet on eligible costs – Heating with renewable energies (as of 03/26/2020) on page 4/5: "Specifically, the typical cost items listed in the following, non-exhaustive list are eligible for funding. Heat pump systems combined with ventilation units including heat recovery - provided that eligible heat pumps are combined with ventilation units including heat recovery and these components are operated together via control technology - including necessary ventilation ducts and ventilation accessories" As stated, this applies exclusively if the heat pump can also be funded via BAFA (annual performance factor >4.5).
