A pros pros new generation WP. Our home construction company offers us the Junkers Supraeco STM 80-1 (Cop value according to Bafa 4.55). I had actually been speculating on the new generation Supraeco STM 120-2, but according to Bafa it has a Cop value of 4.36 and would therefore not be eligible for funding. Can someone explain that?

You are confusing COP and the annual performance factor according to VDI 4650. For the Bafa, the annual performance factor according to VDI4650 is what matters. You can calculate that yourself; there are calculators available from BWP. Google "annual performance factor calculator."

I would generally recommend inverter heat pumps. That means with power modulation. What do you think happens to an 8kW pump during the transition period in terms of cycling??

Why have I confused something? I only repeated the values from the Bafa table!?

As for the cycling, I have no idea. What are you trying to tell me with that?

How do you come to the conclusion that this HP would not be eligible for funding because of the COP value of 4.36 from the list? And why it actually is, and what you confused, is explained above.

Use a different HP. A "performance-controlled" one, to stay within Bafa terminology.

So it means that although Bafa states the COP value in their list, neither I nor Bafa can make any use of it. The annual performance factor is individual but is very likely above 4.5? And I should not take another heat pump but for example the power-controlled Supraeco STM 120-2, right?

The COP indicates something about the efficiency of the heat pump itself, under certain environmental conditions.

The annual performance factor according to VDI 4650 indicates something about the efficiency of your complete heating system in your house under standardized environmental conditions.

The "real" annual performance factor in the end determines your electricity bill.

2) yes.
