Your hint is helpful and I have a question about it. I was told by one of the social associations I am a member of that --> all authorities in Germany are legally obliged to inform/enlighten citizens comprehensively. They supposedly are not allowed to simply withhold knowledge that would be helpful or advantageous to the citizen and thereby "harm" the uninformed citizen. That also surprised me, since I always assumed that employees in authorities primarily aim to fend off citizens' claims against the state, if at all possible.

My father has been living on this property for about 75 years, and I honestly have to admit that his horizon does not extend beyond this property either. He is very proud that the land register is super clean and has never contained any encumbrances. He will not be pleased if I come up with any demands now. He would probably consider that grossly ungrateful. Especially since he still does not believe that it is not my house, but his house, and that I therefore must have an interest in ensuring that his financial situation is in order. He sees it the other way around, that he must have an interest in ensuring that my financial situation is in order, which is why he wants to have a precise overview of my financial circumstances at all times. And then there is also the fact that he does not trust external advisors because they have always advised him incorrectly or incompletely in the past. Therefore, he does not want to have anything to do with lawyers, notaries, or tax advisors. From that perspective: difficult...

Well then, good luck from now on. You don't want to / can't take advice and not change.

However, the statement is unfortunately very general and accordingly, also incorrect in the way you meant it.

For tax offices, for example, the Fago (Tax Office Rules of Procedure) applies. It stipulates that the tax office is committed to the common good, provides understandable information, and offers necessary assistance. However, necessary assistance only includes purely trivial matters. Such as problems with Elster; there are special contact persons for that in the tax office.

The tax office is not allowed to give actual tax advice according to Section 5 of the Tax Consultancy Act.
Because Sections 3 to 4 list all persons who are authorized to provide tax consultancy services exhaustively.

De jure, it is therefore forbidden for the tax office to provide tax advice.

Binding information is an exception to this, as it is subject to fees and is intended to provide taxpayers with legal certainty in very specific matters.
As Musketier correctly pointed out, the requirements for such information are, however, not easy to meet.

What?! First the watchful mother and now the father... That explains the problem with women. Sorry, really not meant in a bad way. You really should finally detach yourself from your parents, gratitude or not.
