§35 does list what privileged uses in the outer area might be possible: essentially agriculture and forestry. But even for that, public interests must not oppose it. I fear one is initially at the mercy of the authorities regarding what they want to approve or not.

How about photovoltaics on the entire property?

I have thought about that as well. However, I do not know how robust the modules are, meaning how vandalism-proof they are. Because I consider it not only possible but absolutely certain that stones will be thrown at them from outside.

We are in Berlin. Everything that can somehow be destroyed is being destroyed here. Unfortunately, most of my clients (provided there are orders again at some point) are also in Berlin. And my parents next door. Otherwise, I would have left here already...

So, earlier we had the conference call with the lawyer/notary. It will probably come down to my father transferring the entire property including his house to me. At the same time, of course, all sorts of safeguards for my parents will be included in the contract, such as the lifelong right of use, and also a revocation in case I die before them, cause criminal liability damages, become insolvent, and so on. My house is explicitly not part of the transfer, because I paid for it myself. So essentially, it is about the property value and the old house with low value, reduced by the burdens from the security for my parents. We certainly won’t stay completely within the exemption amount, but also won’t be far beyond it. Then the taxes are moderate and everyone is satisfied.
