Almost double the area for the hallway on the upper floor.
Looks can be deceiving. I don't know if the software includes the staircase, but with you it's the open space that you can gladly count as wasted space added to the hallway, as well as the oversized bedroom. In my case, when you come upstairs you are greeted by windows and thus daylight.
As I already said: a long staircase makes for large hallways.
We would also like the children's rooms to face the garden.
Mine actually have a deliberate south orientation to be as bright as possible. And the bedroom deliberately has the leftover space – but I have already explained that in writing at some point.
By the way, sometimes Dad does laundry at our place, too.
