Do you find that too high? What would be your suggestion? It is not finished yet.

Looks somehow strange when the top edge is uneven. The neighboring windows might then be too low or too small. Your wife will probably want something opaque anyway. If it doesn't bother you that the house shows signs of DIY planning, why not.

The two windows in the bathroom are the same height. There is no upper edge that is uneven. Maybe you mean the facade where the entrance door is. Yes, the windows at the top there are not aligned. I will put it this way. It is understandable that the traditional architectural style, especially with symmetrical facades and perfectly aligned windows, is being emphasized here. And it is understandable that tastes in architecture clash and everything "asymmetrical" is immediately labeled as DIY. I expect nothing else here in the forum. Nevertheless, it was planned from the inside out and according to function. If a height difference results from that, then yes, it is there.

We are currently considering omitting the light strip in the living room area. Frauchen is worried that the living room corner might then become a rather shady (dark hole). What do you experts think about that?

I personally am not sure. There is actually plenty of south and west-facing glass, but not exactly in this little corner, rather further away.

In my opinion, leave it out. You have a huge window front that lets in enough light. Our sofa corner also has no window and I don't miss any additional light. On the west side, it can even disturb in the evening when watching TV, depending on the angle of incidence.

If you take a look at your furniture, it might be that you are looking into a dark corner.
I would rotate the couch and TV so that you can also look into the light, that is, into the garden, from the couch. Then I would install a narrow floor-to-ceiling window on the west corner. It would probably look more harmonious from the inside and outside.
