Same here, I can only agree. Are there really people who give up nice things because of the kids, just because they might get damaged? Where does that stop? As a parent, you are not just the child's fulfillment assistant, but still a real person :)
Not necessarily getting damaged, but wearing out very quickly.
Your nicely skimmed Q3 walls won't stay white for long with little kids. And if it wasn’t your kids, it was the guests who unfortunately don’t use the stair railing but run their hands along the wall when they climb the stairs. The parquet in the kids' rooms also looks quite different from the rest of the house.
Our sofas were cheap and already 7 or 8 years old. We had something nice in mind for a few thousand, but when I look at the current ones with all the stains (one of the main reasons for the replacement), I hold back on this investment until the kids are a bit older.
I also wouldn’t buy expensive new cars with small children, let alone lease one. The family car is pretty worn from the inside and someone once drew all around the paint with chalk from the outside... sure, these are all signs of use and normal to some extent, but if you just made a bigger investment, this “these things just happen” really hurts. At least that’s how it is for me. What now happens to the car honestly doesn’t bother me anymore; I won’t get a heart attack from it. It would definitely be different with a new C-Class ;-)
