It does anyway: because of laziness and because the garage is so narrow.

Everyone would like to have a direct passage from the garage into the house. If you watch people, they actually all want to get out into the daylight, unless it’s raining. A garage for a car is totally overrated, unless it is located in the middle of a big city and is also big enough.

Then I at least already fall through your filter: garage in front of which the car is parked, even though I have a basement.

Yes, we would usually have done that too. But I think the concept is quite good and compared to the 40,000€ BAFA-eligible LWWP with ventilation that everyone else wanted to push on me (and which would not help me in the end since I no longer receive BAFA ;) ) it’s not that expensive anymore. Ultimately, the decision was made because the contractor just does it that way and the package was simply the better offer. And it is definitely the better concept, even if not the most economical. PS: I have to say I’m surprised every time how much colder it is up there compared to Konstanz. Distance from the lake and 260m more altitude really make a difference. I absolutely can’t understand that either. You combined the worst of both worlds. The bank is the landlord and you pay all the maintenance.

I have three garages and a basement. In one garage the car is parked, in another one is the first motorcycle and a scooter, which is also the workshop. In the third one there is a second motorcycle and the garden tools. The second car has to stay outside. But at least the basement is not cluttered. It stores decorations etc., including the heating system and washing machine. What I want to say: rethink your priorities. Without a workshop, it’s bad for me. Without a home cinema possibly for the original poster. If money gets tight, I would rather equip the attic with a good staircase and install the home cinema there.

Das heißt jetzt übersetzt auf Deutsch:
Wenn man die Leute beobachtet, wollen eigentlich alle gerne im Tageslicht sein, außer es regnet.

Regarding "subtle," you can rightly consider the availability of craftsmen and delivery times for houses. ;-) Anyone involved with the topic understands that.
