The kitchen has an 80 cm front width as a passage. The passage width through the wall will probably only be about 76 cm anyway. The kitchen person should present that in detail. Personally, I don’t find the kitchen planning ideal yet, but I’m also absolutely no fan of these hidden passages. What is the condition when the door is open?

I don’t see a standard room door (frame) size making sense here, better take 88.5 than 76. By the way, I already wrote about this recently

.

That would be nonsense without sauce at this width, and the exits from the open-plan area are already more than redundant as they are.

I wanted to give you a brief update here. Unfortunately, the financing took longer than necessary. But we were successful and now have financing that is already registered in the land register. The BBQ has reviewed the construction documents and given a few suggestions, which I found very sensible. That also took quite a while because the BBG had planned a longer vacation.

But now things should move forward. In the next few weeks, we want to sign the construction contract.

I think you're right about that, but I'll discuss it again with the kitchen builder.

What exactly prompts someone to choose an 88.5 wide door for a pantry instead of 76? Is it a commercial kitchen where half pigs, whole cattle, or countless refrigerators need to be carried in and out daily?

Especially since every centimeter of door width in this tiny pantry takes away valuable space for shelf (depth).
Or are you planning to have the door open towards the kitchen?

I would rather consider a 60 door. It’s a pantry, not a front door. Storage space takes precedence over comfort here...

I have two things I am currently thinking about and where I would like your feedback. Therefore, I have attached the house again, but without the basement. The basement remains, don’t worry!

1. Windows in the bedroom on the north side. There are 3 proposals… One is “[Vorschlag_1]”, then “[Vorschlag_2]” and as before (see “[Nord OST Ansicht.png]”). What would you choose? See red circle.

2. The floor-to-ceiling window in the living room area, i.e. behind the couch, is actually unnecessary. What do you think if I change this back to a normal window? It was also criticized that the open plan area already has more than enough redundant exits. See also red circle in “[Süd und West.png]”

Currently reading the stuff about PET bottles... so if you no longer have the strength to get a crate of beer through a 76 cm or 60 cm door without an accident, it's probably time to stop drinking beer. You can only shake your head... have we really become so degenerate that we need extra-wide doors just to get a crate of glass bottles into the house?
