The staircase takes up a lot of space, would a half-turn staircase also work there?

I would significantly reduce the size of the bathroom downstairs. Then the question is how often you need the guest room and the office. Possibly you could combine the office and guest room and put a fold-out couch for visitors in.
Enlarge the living area accordingly so that it is more L-shaped.
A lot has already been said about the hallway and wardrobe; I wouldn’t underestimate that with 4 people either.

Upstairs, I would make sure that the children's rooms face south (i.e., the garden) and maybe are a bit bigger. The bathroom would then be in the north. But all this depends on the size of the staircase, and the need for office and guest room.

More is not possible because information is missing. You have to do that yourself. What you need for it I had written.

Not tasteless, but a quote from a contemporary well-known movie, where even the protagonist had to chuckle about it.

Yes… I also find it somewhat strange in today's times how one can think about a selfish house construction while others are fighting for their survival in basements.

Yes, Schindler's List is really something you should know. Intense quote from Ralph Fiennes. But it wouldn't be my favorite.

I can only repeat that this house is absolutely terrible from a financing perspective. I would demand a maximum equity ratio for that. As a bank, you don't want to sell something like that! In my now 12-year career, I had something like that once. That was enough. This is only different if the house is located right in the middle of Munich.

Wrong. Anyone who feels the need to come here with some biased arguments should just google the phrase.

And repeatedly ends up at the source because of which I dislike the saying: the "Mutti, Mutti," starting disabled "jokes" from the 70s, in this case concerning thalidomide victims :-(
