Floor plan optimization - semi-detached house approximately 150 sqm

On the one hand, you can’t put a double bed in the narrow guest room on the ground floor.

But you can. The room is almost exactly the same size as my parents’ bedroom and the door is also in the same place. It doesn’t actually feel cramped with a double bed and a wardrobe (on the door side)... I was quite surprised that the room is actually so small when I finally had a floor plan in my hands. I rather see the problem upstairs... Where would a living room be then?

Since the thread creator does not provide any real information, I will stick to the essentials: the floor plan is complete rubbish!

I would be interested to know what you mean by this in the questionnaire: "Möglichst cleverer Grundriss". What does clever mean to you in this context?

You speak in riddles, as already here: Even in Klein-Krotzenburg, a semi-detached house is a semi-detached house and no semi-detached house is no semi-detached house (???)

What do you call it when 60% of a semi-detached house has stood since the 19th century and we rebuild our 40%? For me it is a semi-detached house, but not a normal one?

Thank you for reading and for the basic comment. Because we are not so happy, I wrote here.

And we do not have any salami tactics. We promised the sellers (parents of the mayor) to stay within the old measurements - that was important to them. We didn't think the dimensions were that bad. It's just quite square for a semi-detached house.

Above all, accessibility and the sequence of the rooms. Room utilization. Apart from the upstairs hallway, we have been quite happy so far.

Actually, we wanted an open-plan kitchen/living room downstairs and a small media room. If necessary, the guest room will have to serve as a retreat.
