6k is a lot of money and a painful learning expense, and the draft is not worth the money. On the other hand - for a complete design plan from the architect, it is actually cheap again, more like a classic price range for a general contractor plan. Try to salvage what you can - this architect (?) will have to completely redesign if he wants money from you because this is technically wrong and bad, and it is a misconception that an architect can plan whatever he wants and then must get the fee. If he does not want a complete redo - which I hope for you - then agree on a payment for the separation.

I will try to save the ground floor. Why 20 steps are planned here is still unclear to me. 16 should be enough. A washing machine and dryer can be installed under the landing. This completes the backup kitchen. The office/guest room is larger, the utility room is still big enough.

or with a straight staircase

There is probably something about that in the development plan. Unfortunately, your tactic of slicing it thin won’t help here. The contour lines have a distance of about 16m, thus approximately 7% slope in the area of the building window. The architect gave the student the hand sketches. Not even a student should make that many mistakes.

How was the terrain taken into account?

Other than floor plans, was there nothing else?

That is not your task at all. It was more about listing rooms, assigning them an approximate size in square meters, and the like. Drawing skills, secondly, need to be learned, and firstly, it can also "prejudice" the architect.

According to the overview plan in , which stands in contrast to

.. which would be 1 m over the plot length of about 41 m.

If the elevations according to the overview plan are correct, then one also has to think about how the building site is adapted to the terrain. Access from the street, exit to the garden onto the terrace, etc.
