A west-facing terrace still gets the southern sun... I don’t understand the problem...

Not a single roll of fat disappears from having a dedicated storage room for the exercise bike you got for Christmas (and from which you swear on New Year's Eve during lead pouring that you'll set it up next weekend). The idea "when I build the next house, I'll at least build such a room, then I'm already a step ahead" is nonsense.

As faithful readers of this forum know, my garage is half a kilometer away from the front door; but what happens to me even less often than getting wet on this way is forgetting something and having to go back again.

You are assuming your circumstances a bit too much. You don’t know what kind of athletes Fitness includes, and everyone knows that you have a memory like an elephant compared to others. But the rest of us forget things every now and then - even in the car.

Well, I guess the OP bought the expensive land on the south-facing slope and wants to make the most of it. So with a panoramic view down the valley from left to right.

I know many people, and in terms of fitness only two types: "they just do it" and "they have spaces for it" - with an intersection close to zero. The only way I base things on my circumstances is that, secondly, I am rather below average in discipline and, firstly, I also just cook with water, i.e., I am certainly not writing here as Iron Man or a pathological jogger. Rarely forgetting something in the car is not innate to me but can be trained—to think "inquisitorially" once more when closing the garage door whether you have taken everything. By the way, triggering this thinking works better with manually operated doors than when you just press a remote control. I do this "double-stitched" by the way: I have to manually lock the trunk; I deliberately decoupled it from the central locking system. The brain is analog.
With a panoramic view of the slow driving zone of the residential area, and also nice wind over the garage.

[Rarely forgetting something in the car is not innate to me, but something that can be trained,]
We are digressing here, but I know only a few who remember any statements or old threads here as much as you do. I wouldn’t even feel like training to do that. I’d rather go for a walk again. In that sense, it saves the gym.

Do you think it’s very drafty there? Because of the west wind or is it a particularly stormy spot? Do you know something we don’t?
