Such a list is quite nice. Now you can go ahead and look up each variety to see what kind of soil, light, and water it needs. Anything you can't provide can be crossed off the list right away. Water and heat will be one of the main problems in the future. Pay special attention to that. Let me know what remains.

There is also a less elaborate strategy: Take a walk around the village and write down all the varieties that grow well at the neighbors'. Also a good chance to casually start a conversation.

No danger Some things I also have on the list, some things I do not want.

Hope you have planned an irrigation system and a large cistern. Until everything has properly established itself, you will need a lot of water. And time if it does not run via an automatic system. Mammoth tree is great. My parents have it in their garden. But it requires a lot of water. In a corresponding size, however, it is also expensive and can only be installed with two mobile cranes.

The irrigation system is initially just a few watering cans. However, we have buried some empty conduits so that water hoses can be discreetly laid later on. For the plants (at least those I have newly added to the list), I paid attention to low water requirements. You especially notice as a "holiday substitute" what an effort it is when you have to water a neighbor's garden where there are water-absorbing plants.

The giant sequoia, for example, will not be coming either. The plot is simply too narrow with 18m.

Instead, it is nice and long... This became clear on Saturday when we drove soil from bottom to top. I knew it would take a long time, and you only see small results in one day. But that it is so bad and you can hardly see any backfilling, a dumper will now at least be procured. It's less about supporting the uphill drive and more about the loading volume. 3-5 wheelbarrow trips will then be replaced by one dumper trip. Does anyone happen to know about this? My list consists of:

Zipper ZI-MD500HS
GeoTech GeoPorter 530D BS
Baumax RMD650
Hecht 2950
Jansen RD-200

I already have a favorite with the Baumax (scores points for payload, container volume, container shape, operational brake, workmanship).

Install the water pipes for irrigation immediately. They are so rigid that even with 100mm empty conduits you cannot continue after 10 meters.
