Filling and compacting the ground for the house

Hi, I received an offer from the earthworks contractor who will install the material for €2500, it is a complete offer. What do you say? Especially regarding the soakaway. We had actually specified a swale infiltration at the building authority. One resident in the new development has this soakaway (from the same earthworks contractor) and another has a seepage igloo.

The plot has a size of 436m² and must be filled up by 1.70m and compacted layer by layer.

We get the soil, Z0, and also delivery for free from them.
For the installation and compaction, he estimates about 2000-2500€, he still has to calculate that exactly.
He will also make us an offer in the next few days, stating what he charges for everything, including 30cm topsoil in the garden and about 30cm gravel with installation under the house.

The offer only includes the 30cm, though. I’m just wondering what happened to the other 1.40m. Is the house now in a depression?

I was just about to ask that as well. Then I would also have them write in how much it needs to be compacted.

He signed for us (requested by our house construction company) that he compacts to at least 98% Proctor density.

The 140m² for 175€ is the topsoil?

So it is backfilled and compacted with sand instead of gravel or RCL? That would explain the price; backfill sand costs only about 20% of the gravel price here as well. Whether it is just as load-bearing, assuming it is installed correctly, might possibly be something a civil engineer can say...

Yes, it will be filled with Z0 sand and finally another 30cm of RC gravel. He is doing plate load tests, so I assume that is already fine.
