Hello 305er

there is the saying: "...built on sand."
There is some truth to that.
I wish you a lucky hand with the refilling by a company. But what has come so far was very thin. Check critically on your side whether there is not a bit too much hope in your thoughts. Because your project is not small and it is supposed to have been carried out later without complaints.
No one gives anything away. Everyone has to earn money through their work. And the offers shown so far would not be enough for me.

Hi, on Friday I got a call from the earthworks contractor, he asked if he should do part of the costs without an invoice.

He wanted to do €3000 without an invoice, but not the rest, because of all the documentation.
By now I'm thinking, nonsense, on the €600.
I'd rather pay that and have a warranty on the whole package.

What do you think about it? I mean, it's normal that in the craftsman sector sometimes things are done without an invoice (at least that's what people say), but the fact that he brought it up himself surprised me.

He will surely have a reason for it, or with your attitude, you have qualified yourself for something like that. I would have something signed off in case of emergency. Has he already delivered any performance?

What kind of attitude? I officially assigned him the work and got a quote.
Yes, he has already filled and compacted 90%, with gravel/sand and a layer of crushed stone.
Some is still missing on the side, I think the property boundary wasn’t quite clear there, and a bit is still missing in the back garden.

Only, aside from the fact that it is tax evasion, I would have to pay the money out of my own pocket and I won’t get it from the bank because they want an invoice.
