A lot can already fit into the trash cans, and organic waste shouldn't be left standing for too long anyway.

Our bin system has even smaller bins than IKEA, but we manage perfectly fine, although we are only a two-person household. Ours sits in a drawer in a 50 cm wide cabinet and our 3 bins don't even fill it up yet. But you can get various bin sizes at IKEA, I find the IKEA bins quite big.

I don't know how you handle it, but we have: a large bin for packaging waste (when full, we transfer it into the yellow bag), a small one for organic waste (goes into the organic waste bin) and another small bin for residual waste, which is the smallest amount of waste for us. Paper goes into a basket and then into the paper bin, glass goes into a bag (which happens to be an IKEA shopping bag for us .... ) and is then thrown into the glass container.

With us, it would also be three bins: one for organic waste (the smallest, because of the smell, but the compost heap is not far away), then everything for the yellow sack, and then the residual waste.
Tomorrow we're going to IKEA anyway, I'll take a look at it in person! :)

I just measured again, the wall with the disputed cabinet (60 or 80) is 2.728 meters long, so the 80 should fit.

However.........a problem has come up!!
We completely forgot to measure the windowsill height.....
Bottom edge of the windowsill: 85 cm
Top edge: 87.....

What now? The cabinet bodies alone are 80 cm high.... plus the countertop.... no way with feet.... that can't work! Damn

At what height is the bottom edge of the opened window?

... I have a similar problem too. As already written by the IKEA expert, measure the distance from the bottom edge of the window sash to the floor and then, if necessary, let the countertop extend over the windowsill.
Off the top of my head: turn necessity into a virtue: build the two rows on the right and left "normally" and pull the countertops continuously up to the window front. Foot 7 cm 80 cabinet = 87 cm. And then put the countertop on, the height doesn't matter there.

Then under the window put the two cabinets 80 60 wide on lower feet or a plinth and place a 2 cm countertop on top, then slide this countertop on the right and left under the countertops of the longitudinal sides, meaning let the plates overlap: 5 cm feet 80 cabinet 2 cm countertop = 87 cm. I don't know which countertop you want to use, but that could even look like you intended it that way and you'd even save the corner joints.

I didn't measure this now, wolf, but I estimate it will be around 88, max 89, it's pretty tight at the windowsill....which I actually want to leave visible, since it's a nice granite slab!

We thought about it yesterday, we're buying the two cabinets and shortening them to 70cm, the right side with the sink will be extended to the wall, then at a right angle to that the lower one again to the wall, and then the oven side back up! So no recess where the window is, but the left corner is also low, you know what I mean? My mother has something similar in her kitchen and it doesn't look too bad.
Do you think this will work?
I don't like the thin panels at all :/
