It was not for nothing that cooking used to be done in separate kitchen areas or kitchen buildings
yep, in the houses where my daughter lived in Singapore, there were always 2 kitchens, the rear "invisible" kitchen had the stove, a sink and dishwasher (or not), in the open living area there was then a kitchen with sink, fridge and cabinets with a smaller island. One time the stove was completely outside, we also ate outside then, only for "formal dining" in the living area.
