I can understand your argument about the cozy living room, but you must not forget the walls. They make it small and cramped. Consider whether you can/want to move your study upstairs. That would give everything a bit more space. Your kitchen also leaves hardly any room to maneuver. On paper, it looks sufficient, but as soon as you want to cook/bake with someone, you end up bumping into each other. That simply takes the fun out of it in the new house.

Thank you for the many suggestions. In March, I have an appointment at Bauplanet and hopefully everything will come together. you have a bungalow with expansion reserve in the roof. Can you show pictures of how it looks inside with a 35-degree roof pitch? How is the floor ceiling constructed?

You probably remember wrong: he has an attic storage space not intended as living space reserve, although with a suitable staircase. See pictures at and

Thanks, I guess I really misunderstood that. I thought it was used as a storage room, but it could be repurposed at any time…

One could also set up rooms there, possible. But we don't want to. Then, of course, radiators would have to be installed upstairs.

I don't find the floor plan that bad. Things I would consider: - Choose the walk-in closet as a passage room to the bedroom (basically remove the corner there and have a straight wall, similar to the design by ypg), that brings a bit of calm - The utility room looks too "furnished" on the picture for me. It's so small, and the layout lacks the house connections, water connection, etc. - I also don't know if the equipment sizes are representative. In my opinion, with the size of the utility room, you won't be able to store much besides the technical equipment. - The hallway is still very large - you have to decide if you want it that way. Many square meters go to space that’s not really lived in (you never stay in the hallway, you just walk through). I would expect such a large hallway rather in a significantly bigger house. Edit: Sorry, I gave feedback on an older version of the design. But some points remain relevant. :)
