My tip (that's how we did it too): Find a finished floor plan from the internet that comes closest to your ideas.
So far, I agree and am glad that it worked out well for you.
Then you go to a general contractor/architect/... and have them look it over and incorporate your wishes.
However, I only see a sample design truly unfold its usefulness when you build on it very concretely, i.e. select one that can be finalized by shifting non-load-bearing walls and/or extending in the direction of the ridge axis. Free interpretations of floor plans — possibly even scaled — are not bad either, but are definitely a whole octave less suitable.
