Thank you for the statements, I will discuss this with the architect as it is at the very beginning of our planning. I would like to design the technical room a bit more spaciously, which is why it would be better suited on the upper floor.

Best regards

We have planned a storage room behind the garage, and we are also planning a storage room behind the kitchen with a sliding door.

We are building with ground floor, first floor, and attic. Our connection room is also located on the ground floor, about 5 sqm, the rest of the equipment such as the gas boiler and heating water tank are in the attic, about 15 sqm.

If I were to plan/build again, I would personally at least put the washing machine and the dryer on the upper floor. But definitely pay attention to soundproofing and (ventilation).
With us, the dirty laundry accumulates upstairs, is carried downstairs and washed there, then in the damp (heavy) state carried back upstairs, dried, ironed and put away in the closet.

We would have had the space without any problem...

It depends on whether you have a dryer or not! If you want to hang the laundry outside, the utility room upstairs is pointless since you have to go downstairs anyway. With a dryer, I think the idea of a utility room on the upper floor is not bad at all. We have the utility room downstairs because we don’t own a dryer (and don’t need one). It would be pointless to wash the laundry upstairs, carry it wet downstairs to hang it outside, and then back upstairs to the closet; that would be an extra trip for us. So it’s best to do it the way that suits your personal situation.

Can you ever explain to a woman who has always lived with a dryer in the household (also as a child in my parents' house) how to dry laundry outside when it rains for days or we have weather below freezing?
