Continuation of sampling.
This morning we were both at our electrician. He will be starting soon and wanted to now decide on sockets and such. 45 sockets, 15 switches, a satellite system, a five-core outdoor cable, two TV sockets, one telephone socket are standard.
Now comes the anxious question. Will the two of them manage with this or this time hit the goal of not paying extra? How will they fare?
I will reveal the answer. The electrician won. We ordered extras. Ten more sockets, one more TV socket, several more switches. And recklessly 13 LED ceiling spotlights three watts. 25 each, six watts two euros more expensive – installed. Five in the bathroom ceiling, five under the roof overhang instead of the front door lamp, three in the hallway instead of ceiling lamps with six watts. Phew. I’m still shocked by my recklessness. But after the topping-out ceremony with eight cases of beer, six bottles of vodka and four Oldesloers, the spotlights won’t matter anymore. You can’t take anything with you anyway.
For switches we are using Berker S 1. Network and KNX are not available. Only Wi-Fi. That is enough. For that, I am getting two outdoor sockets, great. For my random orbital sander and so on. Or if you need power outside for the music system. We don’t party every week, but when we do, it’s with Radar Love.
The spotlights will surely look chic. With LED, maybe you can even put in things that always change white and red and blue and purple and pink.. Karsten

Haha, without the next sentence

it sounded funny: outdoor sockets for WLAN

don't forget to make the outdoor sockets switchable - so they can't be used for burglary tools

No LAN? Not even a basic connection at the TV and office? Or at a few central points in the house where you can at least nail access points if needed.

A normal electrical installation is definitely fine, but a new house without any LAN at all is just not acceptable. You don’t have to overdo it with connections either. Recently, I have set up some DSL connections and ran LAN cables through the most obscure corners of the house to get the router and/or access point to the desired location. From my point of view, this should be avoided in a new build.

The router goes into the telephone socket after all. Then you can plug the PC into the device, right? Or do I have such strange routers?

That is of course possible, but nowadays most people have a variety of such devices positioned throughout the entire house and consider WLAN more of a crutch - cables are always better. Therefore, it does make sense to have at least a minimal configuration implemented there.
