So in my opinion the most extraordinary thing about the story is your wife. But she isn't deaf-mute by any chance?

Hello,

Honest respect for the discipline! Getting through the sampling without spending a lot of money right away is not easy. It has been over a year for us now, and back then it was already exciting, it was the first time that "now it's really starting" feeling. But 2 hours is really a daring feat. Back then we spent a good 8-9 hours at the sampling center and didn’t feel like we had dawdled. And tiles, floors, and doors weren’t even included!

You will probably still pay a price with the tiler and electrician...

Many greetings,

Andreas

Well, my wife already fixed the tiles with him today. We had chosen them a while ago. He gives you three tile or building material suppliers where he has customer numbers; you go there and choose from them. That was done, now they just drew on the plan where my wife wants which ones. Electrician, I'm relaxed about that; he's a friend of ours who will do it. Same with bathroom, sanitary, heating. We'll get that sorted. Those two hours can only be managed because there is no sample center outside of laundry baskets and suitcases. Thank God. I'm one of those people who feel paralyzed when they have to choose from 50 different things. My wife handles a large selection better, but it suits me well when someone shows me two handles and asks, this one or that one?

Now I'll be honest, that's exactly what I meant. It runs through your posts and recommendations, you call it affordable, I call it cheap. Maybe it’s because of age, but I want to build something nice, and if in the end it costs 5,000 € more, then so be it because I want it that way. It’s supposed to be the nest for me and my family. If it’s different for you, okay! If you simply need it, that’s fine too. But personally, that would be far too little for me. And in my opinion, the provider is also making it a bit too easy for himself. If he can only do hither and thither... he’s really taking the easy way out. And wants to offer it as cheaply as possible to maximize his own share at the end.

My 2 Cents

Quite possible, if the customer is satisfied with it, why not.
Not common often also means a hefty surcharge (small quantity, unfamiliar processing). Maybe they don’t want to get the reputation of being cheap up to the sample phase.

I'm just allergic to the "classic" sellers who obviously only want your best (namely money).

You guys are really very easygoing. Normally, you have some idea of what the future house should look like and don’t only start thinking about whether the windows should be colored and what color the roof will be on the day of the sample selection. Likewise, you consider in advance what the staircase should be like and don’t just get sold a lacquered beech staircase in a few minutes of conversation. With us, such decisions take veeeerrry long. By the way, your red concrete roof will be dirty after 10-15 years, even without trees around it.

Best regards
Sabine
